LONDON - G8 countries to discuss the current situation on the Korean Peninsula in the City of London, England this Thursday, April 11. They looked for a way to be able to overcome the crisis.
"One of the themes of this meeting is the prevention and resolution of conflicts. I think the Korean crisis is very relevant to the theme, "said British Foreign Secretary William Hague, told the BBC on Thursday (04/11/2013).
G8 is a group of developed countries in the world. The group consists of the United States (U.S.), Britain, France, Japan, Russia, Italy, Canada and Germany.
Japan said it would utilize the G8 meeting for solidarity among developed countries to prevent North Korean aggression. In addition to the U.S. and South Korea (ROK), Japan also received threats from North Korea.
Prior to the meeting to take place, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov gave his full support to the U.S.. Russia is one country that has a border with the North.
"We fully support the U.S. position in the face of North Korean threats," said Lavrov.
