55,000 Tons of Tainted Beef Meat Horse Netherlands

AMSTERDAM - Dutch Food Safety Authority (Nvwa) attracted 55 116 tonnes of beef that circulate in the country. The beef allegedly contaminated with horse meat.

"The beef that may be contaminated with horse meat, but we have not been able to confirm it," said a spokeswoman Nvwa, seeprti quoted by Reuters on Thursday (04/11/2013).

Nvwa states, contaminated beef came from two companies, Wiljo Import en Export and Willy Selten. It is not known from where the meat sold two companies.

Horse meat scandal sweeping Europe since January. Food products contaminated horse meat was first discovered in Ireland and quickly spread to other European countries.
